The European Commission Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (EU RASFF) has issued a recall notification on Waitrose brand pesto products, Waitrose Basil Pesto Green (190g) and Waitrose Pesto Tomato (190g), due to undeclared allergen (peanut) on their product labels.
Implicated products:
1. Waitrose Basil Pesto Green;
2. Waitrose Pesto Tomato;
Size: 190g;
Use by Date: All batches;
Country of origin: Italy
2 As the implicated products were imported into Singapore, the Singapore Food Agency has directed the importer to recall the product.
The recall is ongoing.
3 Consumers who have purchased the affected products, and who are allergic to peanut, should not consume them.
