Recall of Huy Fong Sriracha Hot Chilli Sauce

The Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has issued a food recall alert on “Huy Fong Sriracha Hot Chilli Sauce” due to lactic acid build up, which may cause certain bottles to bloat and continue to ferment. The build-up of pressure in the bottles may cause them to explode upon opening.

2 As there is import of the implicated product into Singapore, the Singapore Food Agency has directed the importer, TC Import & Export Pte Ltd., to recall the product. The recall is ongoing.

3 Consumers who have purchased the affected product may contact their point of purchase for enquiries, and for a refund or exchange of product.

Huy Fong’s Sriracha sauce, also simply referred to as Sriracha, is based on David Tran‘s recipe for the Sriracha chili sauce, a dipping sauce that originated in Thailand.

This sauce is produced by Huy Fong Foods, a California manufacturer.
