Suspension of the food business operations of Suvai Foods Pte Ltd located at 1009 Aljunied Avenue 4, #01-36, Singapore 389910
The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has suspended the food business operations of Suvai Foods Pte Ltd (1009 Aljunied Avenue 4, #01-36, Singapore 389910) with effect from 21 February 2023 until further notice.
2 On 21 February 2023, during an inspection of the said premises, non-compliances such as pest infestation at the processing areas and in the delivery truck, unauthorised use of office space for packing, and broken floor tiles at the washing area were observed. In addition, several lapses related to poor housekeeping and hygiene practices of the premises were observed.
3 In the interest of public health, SFA directed the licensee to rectify the lapses and take necessary measures to improve the food safety practices and cleanliness of its premises.
4 Food safety is a joint responsibility as food can be contaminated anywhere along the food chain. While SFA continues to be vigilant and works to ensure that regulatory measures are in place and properly enforced, the industry and consumers must also play their part.
5 All food operators should ensure that their premises are clean and well-maintained, and staff are adequately trained on proper food safety management.
SFA will take enforcement action against food operators who do not adhere to regulations or comply with food hygiene and food safety requirements. Offenders are liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both.
