Recall of NIO Cocktails “Mai Tai” Due to Presence of an Undeclared Almond Allergen (SFA)

The European Commission Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) has issued a food recall alert on NIO Cocktails “Mai Tai” due to the presence of undeclared almond allergen.


2 As the implicated product was imported into Singapore, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has directed the importer (Nautilus Vintage Asia Pte. Ltd.) to recall the product.

3 Allergen in food could result in allergic reaction in individuals who are sensitive to it.
Under the Sale of Food (Food Regulation), food products containing ingredients that are
known to cause hypersensitivity must be declared on food packaging labels to safeguard
public health.


4 The presence of almond allergen does not pose a food safety issue to consumers at
large, except for those who are allergic to almonds. Consumers who have purchased the
affected product, and who are allergic to almonds, should not consume it. Consumers may
contact their point of purchase for enquiries.
