Recall of Tohato Caramel Corn Original Flavour Due To The Presence Of An Undeclared Treenut Allergen (SFA)

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has issued a recall alert on Tohato Caramel Corn Original Flavour products due to the presence of undeclared treenut [almond] allergen.

2 As the implicated product was imported into Singapore, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has directed 2 importers, Redmart Ltd and JFC (S) Pte Ltd, to recall the product. The recall is ongoing.

The affected batches of products have Best Before dates up to and including 11 Jan 2022, 12 Mar 2022, 05 Apr 2022, 12 Apr 2022, 10 May 2022, 13 May 2022, 22 May 2022.

3 Allergen in food could result in allergic reaction in individuals who are sensitive to it. Under the Sale of Food (Food Regulation), food products containing ingredients that are known to cause hypersensitivity must be declared on food packaging labels to safeguard public health.

4 The presence of treenut [almond] allergen does not pose a food safety issue to consumers at large, except for those who are allergic to almonds.

5 Consumers who have purchased the affected product, and who are allergic to almonds, should not consume it. Those who have consumed the implicated product and have concerns about their health should seek medical advice. Consumers may contact their point of purchase for enquiries.
