Suspension of Licence of Food Shop at 279 Changi Road, Singapore 419759

**Update: At the request by the owner of the said establishment in this article, SG Taste! shall remove/censor the shop name so as not to tarnish its name further, but we would like reiterate the importance of hygiene practices among all eateries in Singapore**

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) will be suspending the licence of food shop at 279 Changi Road Singapore 419759 under the Points Demerit System.

The period of suspension is two weeks from 21/05/2019 to 03/06/2019.

The licensee has accumulated 16 demerit points over the last 12 months and fined a total of $1100 for the following offences:

Depending on his past record, a licensee who accumulates 12 or more demerit points during a 12-month period may have his licence suspended for a period of either two or four weeks, or cancelled.

All food handlers working in the suspended premises would also be required to attend and pass the Basic Food Hygiene Course again, before they can resume work as food handlers.

All the food hygiene officers working in suspended premises are required to re-attend and pass the WSQ Conduct Food & Beverage Hygiene Audit course to ensure that they are properly trained and qualified.

SFA takes a serious view of these offences and would like to remind food operators to observe good food and personal hygiene practices at all times, and to engage only registered food handlers. SFA will not hesitate to take firm action against anyone found to be in violation of the Environmental Public Health Act.
