At Teban Market Place (Yes, this hawker centre is still managed by NEA.. not those profit-driven social enterprises.. Phew~!!), you can still find plenty of affordable and simple delicacies for general public!

We tried Seng Huat Cooked Food for its popular traditional “Yong Tau Foo – 酿豆腐” during the morning timing!

“Yong Tau Foo – 酿豆腐” is Hakka Chinese cuisine consists of Tofu (bean curd) filled with mixed minced meat or fish paste. Other dishes include vegetables and mushrooms stuffed with various minced meat or pastes, fish cakes and fried Surimi etc. It can be eaten in many ways, either dry with a sauce or served as a soup dish

We ordered a dry Yong Tau Foo with Mee Hoon (thin rice vermicelli), with scattered diced fried onions & a generous spread of the mouth-watering sweet black paste sauce, accompanied with a separate bowl of favored soup! So Yummy~!!

Nowadays, it’s hard to find cheap, decent and tasty food in Singapore..

At only S$3.00 for a 5-pieces Yong Tau Foo, complete with rice or noddle, it’s really a great deal for everyone! Definitely a MUST to try~!!
