{"id":978,"date":"2019-06-12T07:12:01","date_gmt":"2019-06-11T23:12:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgtaste.sg\/?p=978"},"modified":"2019-06-12T07:12:08","modified_gmt":"2019-06-11T23:12:08","slug":"birds-of-paradise-gelato-boutique","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgtaste.com\/index.php\/2019\/06\/12\/birds-of-paradise-gelato-boutique\/","title":{"rendered":"Birds of Paradise Gelato Boutique"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>Birds of Paradise<\/em><\/strong>, while the name of the store would hardly resonate with a specialty store selling <em>gelato<\/em> and ice-cream, the shop is actually highly popular on social media for its <em>Instagramable fa\u00e7ade<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/sgtaste.sg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/image-90.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-979\" width=\"526\" height=\"367\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The store started out in the popular food enclave in <em>Katong<\/em> and has since opened another outlet at <em>Changi Jewels<\/em>.\u00a0 <br><br>Apart from its beautiful shopfront drenched in a myriad of mellow pastel colours and motifs of flamingos, the distinguishing factor that set them apart from the usual gelato stores is that their gelatos flavours are inspired by natural botanical elements.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img src=\"https:\/\/sgtaste.sg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/image-91.png\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is image-91.png\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Think Strawberry Basil, Spiced Pear, Basil, Earl Grey &amp; Lemongrass, Sea-salt Hojicha, White Chrysanthemum, Midnight Gianduja, though there are still some more common flavours like dark chocolate sorbert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/sgtaste.sg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/image-92.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-981\" width=\"563\" height=\"298\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>For S$4.70, you get a single scoop or S$7.70 for a double.\u00a0 <br><br>They also have freshly-made <em>Thyme-infused<\/em> cones if you prefer to have your ice-cream in a cone. We tried out their <em>Strawberry Basil<\/em> and <em>Midnight Gianduja<\/em> flavours in single cone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Strawberry Basil<\/em> which is described as \u201c<em>The tang of red strawberries is rounded off with the mellow tones of a basil infusion<\/em>\u201d.\u00a0 <br><br>To us, it tastes like strawberry but definitely with an after-taste of raw veggies (basil).
