Those who travel frequently to Johor Bahru in Malaysia, will surely know where is KSL City Mall, which is a popular shopping area near Malaysia CIQ Checkpoint (near Woodlands).. but are you aware of the nice eateries around the vicinity outside of the mall?

We visited one of the hidden gem nearby, selling traditional Claypot Chicken Rice<\/em> and many familiar “home-cooked” dishes!

Along the stretch of old shophouses nearby to KSL City Mall, you will be able to spot this prominent lighted signboard placed outside the said shop! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside the shop, they hang up a poster claiming to be Number 1 for Claypot Chicken Rice<\/em> in Johor Bahru!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Singapore newspaper once did an article about them too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They started off selling Claypot Chicken Rice<\/em> at a makeshift outdoor hawker in the older days.. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We waited for about 20mins for our orders to come..

The Clayport Chicken Rice smelled great and accompanied with a small portion of dried salty fish on top! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Depending on your preference, you can scatter in lots of SPICY HOT CHILLI PADI from the large basket provided~!!! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time to “Scoop and Flip<\/em>” to mix the rice with the ingredients thoroughly!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Generous portion of sliced “Lap Cheong – \u81d8\u8178” (Chinese dried seasoned sausage<\/em>) and diced chicken meats with vegetables are well-mixed with cooked rice soaked with sesame oil and dark sauce etc~!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The diced chicken meat is flavorful is easy to chew, and gives a titillating aftertaste..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We recommend ordering some cooked vegetables with oysters sauce to compliment the Claypot Chicken Rice further.. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, the Claypot Chicken Rice taste pretty good and brings back the old traditional taste and feel of Claypot Rice.. A dish that worths reminiscing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
